Hold on to your penises! Wiggle them around quite a bit until they’re either red and sore or semi erect! Yesterday there appeared some news about a new Neo Geo console, it’s being labelled as a retro one because the games it’ll play are from the early 1990s. Presumably you won’t need to spend roughly £150 for each game this time around.

Once the official announcement is made by SNK we’ll be stealing as many high resolution photographs and screenshots as possible. The past NOTUKR coverage of the various SEGA Blaze consoles will seem insignificant in comparison.

  1. This is good because:
It’s Neo-Geo branded and everything featuring that logo/name is great.
    Metal Slug’s built in.

    This is bad because:
It’s widescreen, despite every Neo-Geo game being made exclusively in the 4:3 ratio so they’ll be horribly stretched on this machine.
Unless there’s a way to get it to boot Neo-Geo ROMS via its SD expansion, it’ll soon be left to gather dust.
People might accidentally think you’re playing on an iphone.
It’ll probably only come out in Japan and cost over a ton.

Still, I bet it outsells the Vita.

    • Rumour is it’s a Neo-Geo branded Dingoo, man. If that’s true, that’s the greatest thing, ever.

If that’s true, It *should* run a ton of open-source emulators, which will all be made a million times more awesome by that patent Neo Geo clicky-nub, instead of a shitty D-pad.

  2. It’s always nice to see things come out that have Neo-Geo written on them. Hope it actually is real/is good.

  3. It does undeniably look like a horribly shopped noobphone 4, though I’ll still probably get one if it is gin-u-wine.

It might even give me an excuse to play KoF 94, even though I’m well and truly atrocious at beat ’em ups.
